Insights into the Reading Process of Russian Heritage Speakers in
Germany and the Czech Republic Under the Influence of
Different Writing Systems
This presentation examines the impact of different writing systems on reading aloud in Russian. The key question is how the use of various scripts (Cyrillic, scientific transliteration, and popular transcription) affects reading accuracy and fluency among Russian heritage speakers in Germany and the Czech Republic. The findings also emphasize the role of familiarity with the script in the reading process.
